A 7-Day Social Media Content Calendar for Indian Creators (Copy This)

A content calendar isn't about being organised; it's about never having to decide what to post at 8 PM with the phone in your hand. Below is a week that works for most solo creators and small brands in India — one theme per day, one format per platform, IST times to start from — and a 30-minute routine to fill it every Sunday.

Times are starting points for Indian audiences — see the best-time guide for the reasoning and how to find yours. Formats follow each platform's strengths: LinkedIn rewards documents, X rewards speed and polls, Instagram rewards Reels and saves.

The Sunday 30-minute fill

  1. 5 min — trends. Look at what's trending in your niche for the coming week (matches, launches, festivals, deadlines). Slot Tuesday's reaction and Friday's opinion around them.
  2. 10 min — write. One idea per day, one line each. If you use an AI writer, give it the seven lines and the tone; edit the drafts rather than writing from zero. In RiseScribe, AutoPilot drafts a post per channel each morning from live trends, so most of this step is approving.
  3. 10 min — media. Pick or generate images for Mon/Thu carousels and Sun's dump; pick the Reel clips. Export photos as JPEG for Instagram.
  4. 5 min — schedule. Load the week into your scheduler at the times above. Leave Tuesday's trend post as a draft — publish it live when the trend peaks.

Cross-post deliberately, not blindly. Monday's LinkedIn lesson can become Monday's Instagram carousel — but rewrite the hook for each platform's reader.

Adapting the template

  • Only on Instagram? Keep the Instagram column and the Sunday fill; add a second Reel on Thursday.
  • B2B / consultant? Move the weight to LinkedIn: three text posts, one document, one poll a week; Instagram becomes the behind-the-scenes channel.
  • Regional audience? Write Mon/Thu/Sun in हिन्दी or मराठी and keep trend reactions in Hinglish — see captions in Hindi and Marathi.
  • No time at all? Keep only Tue (trend Reel), Thu (teach) and Sun (recap). Three good posts beat seven thin ones.

Quick answers

How far ahead should I plan social media content?+

One week of scheduled posts and a rough month of themes. Further than that and you'll be fighting the news; closer and you'll be improvising at 8 PM.

Should I post the same content on every platform?+

Same idea, different execution. A LinkedIn lesson becomes an Instagram carousel with a new hook, and an X thread with the punchline first. Cross-posting tools that resize the caption help; blind copy-paste reads as spam.

What's a realistic posting frequency for one person?+

Three to five Instagram posts or Reels, three LinkedIn posts and daily light activity on X is sustainable if you schedule a week at a time. Consistency over months matters more than volume in any week.
